Minis is available to all children aged 4 years and above currently attending Reception Classes at School. 

 Join us for lots of fun and adventure over the May and Summer holidays. Our theme's will vary from week to week with lot of arts and crafts, treasure hunts, outdoor exploration, and baking planned. 

The individuality of our childcare programme at Monkton is the key to our success. We offer flexible childcare for parents, with a fun and stimulating environment for the children.  Choice is the key for the children on our Camps; our leaders design each session around the children’s interests and abilities and ensure that an emphasis is placed on promoting self-confidence and self-expression, with a large helping of fun! 

Activities during the week will be based around the themes; they will include treasure hunts, outdoor play, a fun swim in the shallow end of our indoor heated pool with lost of floats and woggles,  making and baking, as well as lots of arts and crafts. 

Children will need to bring along a nut-free packed lunch, and swimming kit. Your child must be signed in by an authorised adult at the start and finish of the day. 

All children are welcome on Minis, you don't have at attend Monkton to come along to the holiday camps

Based in The Hodges building at Monkton Prep School, full day sessions start from 8.30am until 5.30pm.

Join us for lots of fun, games, lots of outdoor adventures on our holiday camps.

Our fun swim each day in Monkton's 25m pool with what is probably Bath's only Giant Wibit Inflatable pool based obstacle course, is a major attraction for the children on our holiday camps. We have lots more to offer, from arts and crafts, stem challenges, lego building competitions, outdoor adventure games, treasure hunts, water polo sessions, raft building in the pool. Our experienced leaders are always on hand with new ideas and enthusiasm, helping the children to make the most of every day.

We pride ourselves on offering a tailor made programme of activities to suit the dynamics of the children each day. Pentatholon2

Monkton PentathlonGB Hub - Juniors (ages 7- 10 years)

Tuesday 26th May and Wednesday 27th May 2026

For Children aged between 7 years and 10 years

Our Pentathlon Hub is an action-packed 2 days designed for any multi-sport athletes who want to build skill, confidence, and performance ability. As an official Pentathlon GB hub, we deliver high-quality coaching aligned with national standards across a range of exciting disciplines. 

Athletes will benefit from specialist performance swim coaching from Jennifer Rice to refine freestyle technique, speed and efficiency. 

Laser run sessions by expert Phillip Hobbs (PentathlonGB) develop focus and precision under pressure. 

Biathle training & fencing footwork with former GB athlete Africa Mason; build speed, work on endurance form, pacing, and smooth transitions between swim and run. Fencing will focus on agility, foot-work and fun fencing-style games. 

Christian Edwards (GB OCR coach) will introduce foundational obstacle course racing skills, helping participants improve strength, agility, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment. We will then build this up to tackling the University PentathlonGB Obstacle Course facility on the final Wednesday.

Training takes place across outstanding facilities at Monkton Combe Senior School, Monkton Combe Prep School, and the University of Bath. With expert coaching, engaging sessions, and activities suitable for all abilities. Spaces are limited, so book now to secure your place!

Monkton Start and Turn Swim Clinic

Start and Turn Clinic
Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th August 2026 
For those aged 8yrs to 14 yrs
1.00pm to 4.00pm 
Pre- requests : Stage 7 swimmers and above, with prior knowledge of turns.
Course price : £80.00
Monkton Leisure are pleased to offer a Start and Turn Clinic for swimmers wishing to improve their technique. Chloe will teach them the fundamentals of touch turns and tumble turns in the Turn Clinic, focusing on diving tips & techniques in the Start Clinic.
 
While your child is in the Clinic they will have access to video demonstrations and/or real life demonstrations from one of our coaches.  Participants may be split into groups,  based on ability, this will ensure they receive the best coaching for their strengths and it will enable us to work closely with them on improving any weaknesses. 
 
By the end of the 2 day course your child will have a better understanding of how to execute each of the starts and turns for all strokes.

Rookie Lifeguard

Tuesday 4th August - Thursday 6th August 2026

For children aged 8-12 years

From 1.30pm until 4.30pm

Course price -£110.00

The Rookie Lifeguard programme gives your child the skills they need to be confident in the pool or the sea – which means peace of mind for you. With colourful materials and fun, varied activities, the Rookie Lifeguard scheme teaches children how to enjoy water safely, whether in shallow or deeper water.

 The award contains rescue, survival and life support skills as well as general water safety elements. Children who have passed stage 6 will have fulfilled the criteria to join the course, or those who can swim 50 meters front crawl unaided.

We hope by the end of the course they will have been able to achieve either bronze, Silver or Gold awards in Rookie Lifeguard. 

 Please be aware that they will be swimming in clothes for the course, so need to be a confident swimmer. Parents should also note the children are required to swim without using googles.
