Lane Swimming Session

 

Lane swim sessions are available weekday mornings from 6am to 8am, and in the evening at 8.00pm. Our weekend timetable offers a lane swim at 8am and 4.00pm Saturdays and 8am, 9am and 3pm on a Sunday. We are only accepting bookings from those with a current Monkton Leisure Membership, please bring your membership card along for verification. 

During our lane swim sessions there will be 4 lanes available in the pool our 25 metre pool. 

The showers and changing facilities are now fully operational. We request that you arrive no sooner than 5 minutes before your allocated time slot.

Only children aged 12 years and above can attend these sessions.

Open Swim Session

If you are a member of Monkton Sports Club and would like to come along for a swim we will require you to book a slot for an open swim session. These sessions are open to families and individuals looking to enjoy a swim. We are accepting adult and children as guest bookings for these slots, please pay the relevant fee at reception before your session. 

The showers and changing facilities are now fully operational.

Backstroke is permitted in these sessions but please be aware of people around you. 

We request that you arrive no sooner than 5 minutes before your allocated time slot.

Please note, you must ensure that the number of participants booked reflects the number of people attending, for example if you have a family membership and you all wish to swim in a particular session you will need to book all participants into the box at the top right of the screen.

Family Fun Swim

Our Family fun swim sessions have now replaced the family swim zone sessions. The session numbers will still be managed,however the pool will no longer be split into six sections. Its the ideal opportunity for families to enjoy some quality time in the water with floats and woogles. 

The booking should be made for the number of participants/family members that you intend to bring along.  As a Sports Club Member you are allowed to bring along up to 4 guests, they do not all need to be Sports Club members, those who are not will be required to pay the appropriate guest fee on arrival at the Sports Club. 

Please note that swimmers under the age of 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Children under 12 years should be accompanied by an adult in the building.

Booking slots will be released on a weekly basis. Swimmers are requested to arrive on site 'beach ready', so with swimmers on underneath day clothes wherever possible, changing facilities are now fully available.

Gym Session

Gym Bookings are only available to Monkton Sports Club members, we are not currently accepting bookings for guests.

We have a range of  CV equipment and weights equipment available in the fitness Studio. Each gym session will begin on the hour and will be 45 minutes long, please ensure that you utilise the anti bac wipes in each area to wipe down the equipment before and after you use it.

Changing rooms are available, however wherever possible come 'gym ready'. Please only arrive on site a maximum of 5 minutes before your session begins.

Please note gym users must be aged 16 yrs or above unless prior consent has been given by the Sports Club Manager.

Hydrofit Class

Thursdays - 6.00pm - 6.40pm -- with Marcus  

Hydrofit is a deep water exercise class utilising hand weights and a flotation belts. All fitness levels and age groups can benefit from Hydrofit , a young athlete can use it as cross training or to train during injuries and an older adult can train everyday to maintain general fitness.

Hydrofit classes are only available to Monkton Sports Club members, we are not currently accepting bookings for guests.

Members of Monkton Sports Club are required to book classes online in order to secure a space. The class will begin on the hour and will be 40 minutes long, please ensure that leave the facilities after the class by 6.55pm, we have a school session arriving at 7.00pm.

Please use the hand sanitiser on arrival. Changing rooms are available, however where possible we are still encouraging our members to come 'swim ready' leave your belongings on poolside.

Please only arrive on site a maximum of 5 minutes before your session begins.

Aquafit Class

Fridays - 10.00 - 10.40am - with Rebecca

Aquafit is a water based exercise class for all fitness levels and age groups, its low impact water aerobics but great if want to train for cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility.

Aquafit classes are only available to Monkton Sports Club members, we are not currently accepting bookings for guests.

As entry numbers are now monitored, it is no longer possible to simply turn up.  The class will begin on the hour and will be 40 minutes long.

Changing rooms are now fully operational.

Please only arrive on site a maximum of 5 minutes before your session begins.

Condition and Tone Class

Thursday morning 8:15am - 9am with Pete.

Similar to a pilates class - focus on core, glutes and toning upper and lower body. Filled with stretching and improving your overall mobility. 

Full body stretch warm up, 

Then working through core & glute exercises 

Followed by some low impact conditioning with body weight upper & lower body exercises

Pilates is a great form of general fitness and well-being. It’s not only a great way to improve your physical fitness, but can enhance mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Pilates can be done by anyone and the teachers will offer exercises that can be adapted to allow various fitness levels, body types and those with health issues. Suitable for those aged between 18-80 years, it can support professional sports people, physical rehabilitation after injury and also help prevent injuries.

Total Body Fitness

Classes take place in the Dance Studio

Total Body Workout is a great class to work on your all round fitness – it combines aerobic exercise with low impact strength training.
Jackie, our instructor, trained in California and she brings a freestyle, easy to follow cardio session that  centres around conditioning and targets the arms, legs, abdominals, buttocks and backs. 
Suitable for all levels as you can work at your own pace.

Kick off the week with this dynamic and exciting Stretch and Tone class with Rebecca Thomas.

Cardio and Tone Class

This class is a total body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditioning workout. This interval-based class combines full-body strength training with high intensity cardio bursts designed to tone your body, improve your endurance and clear your mind before you start your busy day!

Badminton- Available to Sports Club Members

Sports Club Members Badminton

Sundays 3.00pm - 4.30pm

We are very pleased to be able to offer badminton once again at the Knight Sports Centre on Monkton Senior School site. Badminton is a fast-paced racket sport that can be played either as singles or doubles, with the aim of hitting a shuttlecock (or shuttle) over a net and into the opponent's court.

We have four courts available, bookings are open for up to 16 people, individuals are very welcome. If you came along as a pair, book two participant spaces, you will also need to be prepared to share your court for doubles.

IMPORTANT - Please book for each individual player/participant, you are not making a booking for a whole court. Please bring your own racquet and shuttlecocks.

Please access the site either from the main car park at Monkton Combe Senior School on Church Lane and walking down the cycle track, or by coming off of the A36 towards Winsley and then turning off back underneath the A36 and following the track.
